Alyssa V. Phillips Foundation
The purpose of the Alyssa V. Phillips Foundation is to support people with Cerebral Palsy ("CP") with a focus on assisting children with CP, the families of children with CP, or any individual impacted by CP in maximizing independence. One aspect of assisting children with CP is simply raising awareness of what CP is and what CP is not. In that regard it is expected that certain volunteers of the Alyssa V. Phillips Foundation may advocate or assist in providing general education to the public regarding CP. The education may be delivered through live presentation, video recorded presentation distributed via internet, webpage design with appropriate detailed information and links, and the more traditional hard copy printed material. Alyssa believes that in order to reach maximum independence an individual must first be accepted and included in society and part of creating an environment of inclusively (especially in the preteen and teenage years) is dispelling with any myths or concerns through education.
Arkansas Children's Hospital
Among the largest pediatric hospitals in the United States, ACH serves children from birth to age 21. They are focused on providing patients and their families with excellent patient care, research, education and prevention.
Atlanta Children's Shelter
Founded in 1986 by the Junior League of Atlanta and located in the North Avenue Presbyterian Church, the Atlanta Children's Shelter provides free, quality day care, emotional support, an educational curriculum for homeless children, and focused social services for their families. Dedicated to helping families overcome the issues that contribute to homelessness, including domestic violence and job loss, the Atlanta Children's Shelter focuses on the long term self sufficiency of the family which sets us apart from other Atlanta homeless shelters.
Since 1986, the Atlanta Children's Shelter has cared for almost 8,000 children and provided services for more than 5,000 families.
Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities
Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities provides a home away from home for families of sick and injured children receiving care at local hospitals. Since 1979, Atlanta Ronald McDonald Houses have served more than 48,000 families with ill and injured children receiving medical care nearby. Their Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child, not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest. They believe that when a child is hospitalized, the love and support of family is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed. But their services do more than keep families close during a child's medical crisis.
Community Connections
Community Connections is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with disabilities and their families. Many children with special needs live in a cycle of school and therapy with little opportunity for extra-curricular activity. At the same time, families of children who are diagnosed with disabilities often lack education and a support network. Community Connections was created to provide extra-curricular activities for children with disabilities and support for their families.
KIPP DFW
KIPP Texas Public Schools – Dallas - Fort Worth is an open-enrollment, public, tuition-free charter school network of eight schools educating over 3,100 pre-K-12 students and supporting over 200 college-aged alumni. Of these students, 99% identify as students of color, with 55% identifying as Black and 41% identifying as Latine; 93% are economically disadvantaged; 23% are English learners; and 7% qualify for special education services. As KIPP Texas and its reach expands, we will continue to grow our external partnerships with colleges, universities, and corporate and professional organizations to ensure that our students are provided with a multitude of opportunities to learn and grow as they develop their postsecondary plans. KIPP Texas DFW envisions a world in which student access to education is unaffected by their household income, race, or zip code, and every child grows up free to create the future they want for themselves and their communities.
Special Operations Warrior Foundation
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation ensures full financial assistance for a post-secondary degree from an accredited two or four-year college, university, technical, or trade school; and offers family and educational counseling, including in-home tutoring, to the surviving children of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations personnel who lose their lives in the line of duty.
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation also provides immediate financial assistance to severely wounded and hospitalized special operations personnel.
We are honored to give back to a charity that does so much for our veterans.
Variety Texas
Variety has a long history of helping children in Texas. Through support of local children's charities, to ensuring hospitals have adequate medical facilities and access to much needed items, to providing underprivileged children with their very own bicycle, to ensuring that children have a reason to celebrate over the holiday season... Variety meets is mission.
Today, Variety the Children's Charity of Texas (a.k.a. Tent 17) is still dedicated to promoting and protecting the health and well-being of children all across North Texas. While we are still the "Heart of Show Business" our members and volunteers now come not only from the entertainment industry, but also from a "variety" of business, industry and professional sources.
